The Ghost Points are a set of acupuncture points developed by Sun Si Miao (581-682 CE) that can be used to treat mental, emotional and spiritual disturbances. Although the existence of this set of points is known to many acupuncturists, the Daoist clinical application and needling method has not been available to the general practitioner.
Presented through the framework of Daoism and Daoist medicine, participants will learn the origin and theory relating to “Gui” disorders, how to assess when using the ghost points is appropriate for a patient and the needling method for their clinical use. Participants will receive the complete transmission for applying this treatment, which will include associated talismans and incantations.

This course introduces palpation and diagnostic approach for Shanghan Zabing Lun (傷寒雜病論) herbal practice, also known as Jingfang (經方). The purpose of the class is to help students learn to practice Jingfang (經方) based more on objective indicators and repeatable evidence of the body, herbs and formulas, less relying on obscure ideas or intellectual constructs of given conditions. This class will help students develop palpatory skills and sensitivity, enhance their understanding of the human body and learn how to relate such skills and understanding to herbs and formulas.
