Using East Asian Herbal Medicine in Supportive Care for Cancer Patients
Using East Asian Herbal Medicine in Supportive Care for Cancer Patients
This seminar will introduce participants to herbal medicine approaches and considerations for cancer-related complaints that are commonly seen in an out-patient acupuncture practice. Designed for the non-specialist, this seminar will help practitioners gain confidence when providing supportive care to cancer patients. We will help you to develop a framework for incorporating herbal medicine into a treatment plan that can be employed alongside conventional Western medical care. We will also discuss current research trends and safety considerations related to the use of herbal medicine as part of a supportive care plan for patients actively undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as those in survivorship.
Instruction provided by members of the faculty of the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine: Andrea Russell, Daniel Altschuler and Kathy Taromina.
